These perrroquets belong to the order psittaciformes and to the family of psittacidae and have the scientific name Ara ararauna and for vernacular name arara-caninde. They are also found in the different states of Brazil. Their characteristic is the fact of living in monogamy as they form couples for life. They feed mainly on fruits. They are threatened with extinction with the illegal trade that remains the greatest danger for the species. This is followed by the deforestation of native vegetation areas, including spaces composed of buriti palms, places available and suitable for reproduction, knowing that these birds use the fiber of the fruit of this palm to design its nest.
